2025 - St. JOSEPH TRAVAILLEUR - Riviere Salee, Nippes - Roof-Walls-Window
St. Joseph the Worker is a very large parish church. The community had already started working on rebuilding their church when the earthquake of 2021 devastated the parish and its chapels. The church was left using layers tarps on the metal rods for a roof during mass. Initial help for the roofing sheets came from the Zuccarello familly and the St. Luke Religious Education School. Completion of the church came from proceeds from the annual Walkathon, and generous donations from Pax Christi Parish in Colorado. Wrought iron windows and doors were added and the walls were finished and painted inside and out. The parishioners fashioned a new altar along with new celebrant chair. An artist even painted a magnificent mural on the back of the altar. For the first time in many years St. Joseph the Worker was able to celebrate its feast with 37 prieists in attendance.
2024 - St. GREGORY - Mendes, Nippes - Roof
The parishioners of St. Gregory worshipped in a hut with walls and roof made of palm fronds. The parishioners longed to have a proper church and slowly saved for years to rebuild their church. They built the walls but ran out of funds for a roof. The community turned to FHTH for help. With support from Pax Christi in Colorado, the church received the new green roof. FHTH continued its help with finishing the walls, installation of wrought iron windows an doors and the addition of a bell tower.
2024 -St. JEAN BAPTISTE- Pascal, Nippes - Roof-Walls-Finishing
The church was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew in 2018. Since then, the faithful have saved their meager means to start the reconstruction of their church. With only a makeshift building as a church, the community sought the help of FHTH to construct a proper church. Collaboration with from Pax Christi in Colorado, allowed the congregation to now worship in a beautiful church.
2023 - St. ANTOINE - Mandrou, Grand'Anse - Roofing sheets
Cite Soleil in the midst of gang population. Yet, Pere David Fontaine does not let himself be swayed. He believes that being in this area is his God-given mission and he carries it with gusto. Once he built the church, he needed a bell to ensure all his parishioners hear the call to come to mass. Pere David turned to From Here to Haiti and we gladly provided him with a bell to call the people to church..

2022 - St. ELIZABETH - Borga, Nippes - Roof and walls
St. Elizabeth's only had a tarp for a roof. With help from Pax Christi in Colorado, FHTH provided St. Elizabeth with a brand new roof and clean, newly painted beautiful walls. However, just two weeks later, on August 14m 2021 a magnitude 7.2 earthquakke struck the Tiburon Peninsula and greatly fissured the walls of St. Elizabeth. Pax Christi and FHTH quickly got to work on obtaining funds to repair the church. The newly installed church was fine but all the walls had to be taken down and reconstructed. A year later, the parishioners of St. Elizabeth worshiped in a brand new church.
2021 - NOTRE DAME de la MERCI - Virgile, Nippes - Roofing sheets
Notre Dame de la Merci is a large church. Although the interior of the church did not need replacing, the roofing sheets suffered the action of time and most were largely rusted and full of holes. The pastor sought the help of FHTH with procurement of roofing sheets and we gladly helped.
2021 - St. CLAIRE - Brossard, Nippes - Bell
The importance of bells for a church cannot be understated. It calls the faithful to worship, marks sacred time, and annoiunce major life events such as weddings or funerals. For this reason, when the parishioners of St. Claire in Brossard were constructing their new church, they made the request of a bell to FHTH and we gladly provided them with one.
2021 - CHAIRE de St. PIERRE - Carrefour Honore, Nippes - Roof-Bell
Bells in a church calls the faithful to worship and remind them of sacred times. The tone of the bells remind them of major life events such as weddings or funerals. Bells are an essential part of a church. When Joseph Galanti passed away, his family and friends obtained a bell in his name to honor him. Now, each time it rings at Chaire de St. Pierre, it rings in his memory. Joseph family also worked with FHTH to provide a new roof to the church. Further, a set of cruets which was donated in memory of Joseph was sent to the church to complete the donations. Joseph Galanti is remembered each Sunday mass at Chaire de St. Pierre.
2020- St. MICHEL ARCHANGE - Langlois, Nippes - Roof-Walls-Finishing
St. Michael in Langlois was almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Matthew. In spite of the fact that half the church was taken down, the congregation still met religiously every Sunday for mass and often during the week for special services. The community longed to repair their church but lack of funds kept them from reaching their dream. They called upon FHTH and with help from Pax Christi, the church was repaired, the interior finished and it received a new coat of paint inside and out.
2020 - NOTRE DAME de la MERCI - Petite Riviere Dame Marie, Grand'Anse - School Roof
The school of Notre Dame de la Merci in Petite Riviere de Dame Marie had seen its days. The classrooms were filled with water when it rained. The pastor turned to FHTH for help and we provided the much needed roofing for the school. Now the children can study without having their classrooms drowned in water.
2020 - St. AUGUSTIN - Brody, Nippes - Lattes for roof
Construction on St. Augustin was well under way but the community needed help with procurement of the lattes for the roof. FHTH supplied the lattes from our supplier in Port Au Prince. Construction continued in good order and St. Augustin had its new roof.
2020 - St. ANTOINE - Jeanty, Nippes - Bell
St. Antoine in Jeanty is a pretty little church but she missed a bell to call her parishioners to worship. Joseph Zuccarello, a student from St. Francis Xavier HS in NYC enlisted the help of his peers and obtained a bell for St. Antoine. Thanks to Joseph, the congregation can come to church called by the beautiful sound of the church bell.
2020 - NOTRE DAME de la MERCI - Petite Riviere de Dame Marie - Well
The seaside community of Petite Riviere de Dame Marie finds it difficult to fetch potable water for their every day use. The pastor brought their pleas to FHTH and reuested to have a well dub as to provide drinking water right in the village. They sought help from FHTH and we helped provide a well. Even before the pump was installed, a group of villagers were already waiting with containers to fetch valuable drinking water.
[NEED FUNDING] ROOF & Complete -Immaculate Conception, Duverger, Nippes
The village of Duverger in the Nippes department has grown over the years and the of faithful of Immaculate Conception has in- creased past the size of their small chapel. The community is very proactive and took it upon themselves to rebuild the church. What was a small chapel has now become an important church able to accommodate all its growing faithful and once completed will be consecrated as a parish. For the moment, rudimentary posts and plastic sheeting serve to protect them from the ele- ments. They seek our help with the roof, the finishing of the walls, and painting inside and out.
